Good Naked is pleased to present its inaugural exhibition Light Switch, opening October 11 from 6-9pm and running through November 10, 2019.
The artworks in this exhibition speak to utility, movement, lightness, and touch. Artists tackle sensory points of access as they deftly shift us toward illusion and longing with a light switch.
Joshua Abelow’s Running Man (pictured above) skips/charges into a black iridescent sun.
Stacy Antoville’s forms tickle trompe l’oeil as glossy glaze finishes reveal their flaccid utility.
Andrés Laracuente’s sculptures disguise body thinly and tenably if we are willing to leap.
Zack Rafuls’ studies/constructions pull and toss the familiar/strange as if we happened upon it.
Corinna Ray’s material interruptions hop between the classical and suburban, inciting disaffect and desire.
Nick Witten’s Lazily Looking (Laundry Day) works light and absence toward another dimension/atmosphere.
The exhibition is on view by appointment only. For more information (including exact location) and images, please contact info@goodnakedgallery.com.
